India - A nation of One Billion people

India , a country of ethical value, known for its uniqueness, tradition and culture is celebrating its 63rd independence day and we the citizen of India are doing nothing for the development of our motherland.. Is this right??we all say that we are independent and so on. But still people are illiterate , there are lots and lots of people below the poverty line and still children suffer from malnutrition and there are people who don’t even know why we celebrate this day.. Its shocking but its real...There is no use in blaming our political setup when we are not discharging our duties properly. Every individual is liable to fulfill his /her duty in a right way for the development of a nation. It s really easy to speak out but the real task lies in how we perform our duties..Patriotism is found in each and every citizen of India but the fact lies in that none is present to kindle it. During the freedom fight, the poets took a major part in inspiring people by their poems which really had a great impact on the people..But in this present scenario ,it is our responsibility to think about the betterment of our nation.I saw a program in the national channel which threw light on the freedom and it was the school students who took part in that show and expressed their views. It was really inspiring and it was the important reason which made me write this article.. Actually only few people would ve seen that program because the people are interested only in the entertainment.I would like to say that if school students are able to come out with such inspiring thoughts then why cant we???think frenzzz. Let this independence day be the great start for a grand transformation in our country. Cheers for India!!!! Proud to be an Indian.Mera bharath mahan!!Happy independence day!!Jai hind!!

तुम चलो तो हिंदुस्तान चले

Happy Independence day to all my brothers and sisters of India....

Independent India turns 62 today

India turns 62 year old Independent nation today. During a span of such time, India has encountered various ups and downs, somehow or other survived many scares and today its stand as one of the major power in Asia. Often we speak only about the negative aspects of the country, belittling the positive achievements made by us since the glory on 15th August 1947.

India has grown significantly in several areas and produced world class scientists, engineers, bureaucrats, journalists, sports persons, artists, industrialists and politicians who have made a mark in the world stage. I would like to mention on this occasion about few personalities of modern India, who had made India proud.

In the last few years, India has made decent progress in several areas and produced world class scientists, engineers, bureaucrats, journalists, doctors, sports person, artists, industrialists and politicians, who have made a mark on the world stage.

First of all, we should salute our soldiers who battled for us, in 1962 Indo-China war, 1965 and 1971 Indo-Pak wars, 1999 Kargil war and saved us from the jaws of the enemy many times. They are ever ready to provide us safety, security and tension free sleep. Our scientists have done extraordinary work and India has attained the capability to send satellites and rockets into space and we are now working on a Moon mission.

We have increased life expectancy from 32 years in 1947 to 65 years in 2009. We have built about 1.25 million miles of new roads in this short span of time. In 1947 our literacy rate was 12.2 per cent and it is up to around 70 per cent now.

In the industrial sector, we are marching ahead of many developed countries. We have increased our exports from a few million dollars at the time of independence to more than $125 billion now, with about $150 billion of imports. GDP growth was around 2.3 per cent in 1951-52 and has reached to more then 9 per cent at present.

The economy of India is the twelfth largest economy in the world by market exchange rates and the fourth largest by purchasing power parity (PPP) basis. India's per capita income is $1016 and we currently account for 1.5 per cent of World trade as of 2007, according to the WTO. Our hard currency reserves have also grown from a mere $1.5 billion in 1991 to over $220 billion today.

India's information technology exports grew from a mere $150 million in 1991-92 to $31.4 billion in 2006-07, and is projected to reach $60 billion by 2010. The Indian IT industry is unique for several reasons. It focused on exports; benchmarked with the best global companies; followed the finest principles of corporate governance; created the largest number of jobs in the organised sector; and demonstrated that Indians, too, could succeed in the competitive global markets.

We are at the eighth position in the world Telecom sector. Total mobile phone users reached 362. 3 million in January 2009 in India and the total subscriber base of fixed lines are more than 50 million. Forty five million Internet user are in India and the number is increasing rapidly.

India is the world's largest producer of films, producing close to a thousand films annually. Indian cinema has found markets in over 90 countries, where our films are screened. Indian artists like Ustad Zakir Hussain, Lata Mangeskar, Amitabh Bachcahn, RajniKanth, Kamal Hasan, Sharukh khan are respected everywhere in world.

When it comes to Business, India has produced vast pool of world class entrepreneurs. As a matter of fact, no of Billionaires in India is more than that in Japan(as per the latest forbes list of Billionaires). We have been able to produce good entrepreneurs like Azim Premji, Narayana murthy, Nandan nilekani.

We have been produce world class politicians like Manmohan singh and visionaries like the great Dr.APJ Abdul kalam whose VISION 2020 has gone into the heart of many Indian Youth.

Now finally coming to sports, Indians are achieving new heights in every kind of sports. In cricket, the Indian team is one of the best teams in every format and of course every one are the fans of Sachin tendulkar. Vishwanathan Anand is world's best chess player, Abhinav Bindra won a gold in Olympics, whereas Saina Nehwal is the latest Badminton sensation.

India has a large number of youth compared to any other developed country in the world. Isn’t this the only force required to over take any superpowers of the world?????????

The kind of potential in each and every one of us is enormous and when it is effectively used U know INDIA WILL BE THE #1 nation in the world. Don’t you think so???

So guys let us all do something and achieve in our field of interest and show to the world who we are and show our might in every field………We soon can have a Microsoft, a Michael phelps, a Barack obama from India….can’t we?????..........

First and foremost we must work towards the vision 2020 emphasized by the people’s president Dr.APJ Abdul Kalam.

What do you feel????????

HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY friends.

success

Success is the main vision of each and every youngster who really wants to prove his/her talent to the world... the fact lies in tat where we are and what is our position globally..not every one can reach the sky when they think to do so..i personally feel that attitude has the lion s share in achieving success
jus check this out...
A - 1
T - 20
T - 20
I - 9
T - 20
U - 21
D - 4
E - 5
just sum these numbers , you can see that answer is 100. so i would like to impress upon that attitude i.e the way we think really matters.. it includes the way we appraoch a job or what ever may be , our uniqueness will take us to great heights..actually i was not very serious about my career before but the "survival of the fittest" said in the Darwin s theory is going on now in the world. the question arises " am i the fittest?? am i equipped?? am i updated??"so the solution is only with us.its our interest, hardwork and the fire towards our goal which will make us stand out as "ONE" .think positive, work for yr future , at same time enjoy the life to the core because this is the only life we have.. have a bright and blissful future guys!! lets rock the world!!

Importance of being united

IMPORTANCE OF BEING UNITED

PEOPLE MAY HAVE DIFFERENT THOUGHTS AND DIFFERENT HOPES, THEIR OPINION DIFFERS, BUT WHEN IT COMES TO SURVIVAL BELIEVE ME FRIENDS THERE IS ONLY ONE THOUGHT ONE HOPE ONE OPINION AMONG THE PEOPLE THAT IS THE STATE OF BEING UNITED. IT IS NOT VERY EASY TO BE UNITED ALWAYS THERE ARE NEGATIVE PORTIONS IN OUR LIFE IT SHRUNKS OUR THOUGHT AND RESULTS IN DISAPPOINTMENT.

RELATING TO THIS I HAVE GOT TO SAY A WELL KNOWN PROVERB TO YOU FRIENDS IT SAYS

REALITY IS THE MOST DIFFICULT SPORT TO BE PLAYED YOU CANNOT JUDGE WHAT IS GOIN TO HAPPEN, SO IN THAT CASE WHY SHOULD WE FIGHT AMONG OURSELF???????? WHY SHOULD WE BE AN AVENGER LIKE ????

IN ORDER TO WIN OR CHASE OR FIGHT WITH THAT SPORT ABOVE SAID WE NEED TO BE UNITED GUYS WE CAN ACHIEVE A LOT. NO MATTER HOW HARD THE SPORT IS BUT IF U CAN STAY UNITED YOUR THE SUPREME ONE .WE ARE NOT BORN SUPERHUMANS BUT WE CAN BE OF ONE SUCH KIND IF WE ARE ABLE TO BE UNITED . THIS IS MY ONE SUCH MOTIVE MY STRENGTH LIES IN MA FRIENDS THEY SUPPORT ME ALWAYS KIND ENOUGH TO ACCEPT MY NEGAVTIVE APPROACH THEY TOLERATE EVERYTHING WHAT I DOES IN THE NAME OF COMEDY . ITS NOT THAT YOUR FRIENDS SHOUD POSSES THE SAME BUT I PROMISE IF YOU ARE TO ABLE TO APPRECIATE THOSE ACTIVITIES YOUR FRIENDSHIP LASTS FOREEVER

India's Answer to Google Earth

ISRO launches Bhuvan

The Indian Space Research Organisation has finally launched BHUVAN which potentially is a competitor to Google earth. Bhuvan, an ambitious project of ISRO was started to take Indian images and thematic information in multiple spatial resolutions to people through a web portal through easy access to information on basic natural resources in the geospatial domain. Bhuvan showcases Indian images by the superimposition of IRS satellite imageries on 3D globe. The degree of resolution showcased is based on the points of interest and popularity, but most of the Indian terrain is covered upto at least 5.8 meters of resolution with the least spatial resolution being 55 meters from AWifs Sensor.

Bhuvan Features

  • Visualise 2D and 3D image data along with rich thematic information on Soil, wasteland, water resources etc.
  • Fly to locations ( Flies from the current location directly to the selected location)
  • Heads-Up Display ( HUD) naviation controls ( Tilt slider, north indicator, opacity, compass ring, zoom slider)
  • Navigation using the 3D view Pop-up menu (Fly-in, Fly out, jump in, jump around, view point)
  • 3D Fly through (3D view to fly to locations, objects in the terrain, and navigate freely using the mouse or keyboard)
  • Drawing 2D objects (Text labels, polylines, polygons, rectangles, 2D arrows, circles, ellipse)
  • Drawing 3D Objects (placing of expressive 3D models, 3D polygons, boxes)
  • Snapshot creation (copies the 3D view to a floating window and allows to save to a external file)
  • Measurement tools (Horizontal distance, aerial distance, vertical distance, measure area)
  • Shadow Analysis (it sets the sun position based on the given time creating shadows and effects the lighting on the terrain)
Really fascinating that India is also trying something...Na?

Bill Gates Tells The Secret Of His Success

As we know that Bill Gates a Successful person in this present world and founder of all time leading operating system and a clinical person with immense talents...These are some of the secret of his to success
1->Passion
2->Intelligence
3->Intergrity
4->good team work
5->leadership
1. FIND OUR YOUR PASSION

No mind-boggling
success story has been written till now without a great passion. Passion generates focus – so necessary to get success in any field. Bill Gates himself has immense passion for computer and software. When he was admitted in Lakeside School he got hooked to the computer there and surpassed the knowledge of his teacher within a week. Amazing passion indeed! Soon he wrote his first programme, at the age of thirteen. According to great scientist Albert Einstein genius is one percent inspiration and ninety-nine percent perspiration. But without passion it is very difficult to work hard. When you recognise your real hidden talent and work to develop that you become passionate, and you are self-motivated to work hard and perspire. When you have passion the work becomes a fun for you and you want to enjoy it more and more.

2. MAKE YOURSELF INTELLIGENT

Bill Gates told that success also depends on your intelligence. Different people have different level of intelligence. Intelligence becomes a problem area for many people because they think like physical strength all the people can’t be equal in it. True. But like physical strength any person can try to develop his intelligence. Now the question is how a person can develop his or her intelligence. You can develop it by taking the following steps: a) Read books and watch general knowledge based programme on television; b) Lap up information from internet; c) Arrange debates on the topics related to your field of interest with friends or other persons of similar interest; d) Practice memorising. Start from simple things like memorising phones numbers, addresses or quotations related to your field; e) Keep yourself physically fit mentally relaxed.

3. BE SINCERE IN YOUR EFFORTS

Integrity is always useful whether it is business or family life. Deceiving causes friction in human relations and hampers your progress. Try to be sincere in everything – in your efforts, relations, and business policies. ‘Honesty is the best policy’ is really wise saying. It is his quality
of integrity that Bill Gates always got long term associates in business. He also got a life long friend and associate in his wife Melinda. Research has also proved that integrity is also good for health as it prolongs one’s life span.

4. CREATE A GOOD TEAM

Creating a team
of talented people is necessary to rise fast in business. The motto of modern business world is ‘combine and succeed’. Teams are of two types: partnership team and assistants’ team. Even the big companies are joining hands in modern world to become stronger to face competition. For a single person it has become very difficult to survive or succeed in big business jungle. In case your temperament doesn’t allow you to go for partnership then you may go alone but still you must create a team of talented people to progress fast. Even Bill Gates understood the value of a good team when he was just a high school student. He joined hands with Paul Allen to find a company (Traf-o-Data) to sell traffic counting systems to state governments and help his school’s payroll system computerise. In Harvard University he met his later business partner Steve Ballmer. He also teamed up with Monte Davidoff and Paul Allen to write the original Altair Basic interpreter for the Altair 8800, the first successful personal computer.

5. LEAD YOUR PEOPLE TO VICTORY

Your team will work better if you are able to provide good leadership to them. For a businessman his workforce is like his family. He shares its joys and sorrows and motivates them time to time to better and achieve the targets. By proper rewards and punishment methods he keeps his workforce disciplined and united and lead them to big
success. He always shares his gains with his employees or assistants by giving promotions, special increments or other rewards.

Now cheer up because you have learnt the secret
of big success from Bill Gates himself. What are you looking for now? Find out your passion and start working.

Deep zoom in Silverlight

Hi guys,

I dont know how many of you remember about the deep zoom technology in Silverlight explained the other day. I have found a website which has implemented it. If you have time visit this link

http://memorabilia.hardrock.com/

You got to have silverlight installed to view this...If u dont have it will automatically direct u to install(provided u run on Firefox or more preferably IE....and do not know about Google chrome).

AVL Trees concepts

In computer science, an AVL tree is a self-balancing binary search tree, and it is the first such data structure to be invented. In an AVL tree, the heights of the two child subtrees of any node differ by at most one; therefore, it is also said to be height-balanced. Lookup, insertion, and deletion all take O(log n) time in both the average and worst cases, where n is the number of nodes in the tree prior to the operation. Insertions and deletions may require the tree to be rebalanced by one or more tree rotations.

The AVL tree is named after its two inventors, G.M. Adelson-Velskii and E.M. Landis, who published it in their 1962 paper "An algorithm for the organization of information."

The balance factor of a node is the height of its right subtree minus the height of its left subtree and a node with balance factor 1, 0, or -1 is considered balanced. A node with any other balance factor is considered unbalanced and requires rebalancing the tree. The balance factor is either stored directly at each node or computed from the heights of the subtrees.

AVL trees are often compared with red-black trees because they support the same set of operations and because red-black trees also take O(log n) time for the basic operations. AVL trees perform better than red-black trees for lookup-intensive applications.

Operations on AVL tree:

The basic operations of an AVL tree generally involve carrying out the same actions as would be carried out on an unbalanced binary search tree, but modifications are preceded or followed by one or more operations called tree rotations, which help to restore the height balance of the subtrees.

After inserting a node, it is necessary to check each of the node's ancestors for consistency with the rules of AVL. For each node checked, if the balance factor remains -1, 0, or 1 then no rotations are necessary. However, if the balance factor becomes 2 or -2 then the subtree rooted at this node is unbalanced. If insertions are performed serially, after each insertion, at most two tree rotations are need to restore the entire tree to the rules of AVL.

There are four cases which need to be considered, of which two are symmetric to the other two. Let P be the root of the unbalanced subtree. Let R be the right child of P. Let L be the left child of P.

Right-Right case and Right-Left case: If the balance factor of P is +2, then the right subtree outweighs the left subtree of the given node, and the balance factor of the right child (R) must be checked. If the balance factor of R is +1, a left rotation is needed with P as the root. If the balance factor of R is -1, a double left rotation is needed. The first rotation is a right rotation with R as the root. The second is a left rotation with P as the root.(I think the last sentence is related to Right-left case).

Left-Left case and Left-Right case: If the balance factor of P is -2, then the left subtree outweighs the right subtree of the given node, and the balance factor of the left child (L) must then checked. If the balance factor of L is -1, a right rotation is needed with P as the root. If the balance factor of L is +1, a double right rotation is needed. The first rotation is a left rotation with L as the root. The second is a right rotation with P as the root. (I think the last sentence is related to left-right case).

Deletion

If the node is a leaf, remove it. If the node is not a leaf, replace it with either the largest in its left subtree (inorder predecessor) or the smallest in its right subtree (inorder successor), and remove that node. The node that was found as replacement has at most one subtree. After deletion, retrace the path back up the tree (parent of the replacement) to the root, adjusting the balance factors as needed.

In addition to the balancing described above for insertions, if the balance factor for the tree is 2 and that of the right subtree is 0, a left rotation must be performed on P. The mirror of this case is also necessary.

The retracing can stop if the balance factor becomes -1 or 1 indicating that the height of that subtree has remained unchanged. If the balance factor becomes 0 then the height of the subtree has decreased by one and the retracing needs to continue. If the balance factor becomes -2 or 2 then the subtree is unbalanced and needs to be rotated to fix it. If the rotation leaves the subtree's balance factor at 0 then the retracing towards the root must continue since the height of this subtree has decreased by one. This is in contrast to an insertion where a rotation resulting in a balance factor of 0 indicated that the subtree's height has remained unchanged.

The time required is O(log n) for lookup, plus a maximum of O(log n) rotations on the way back to the root, so the operation can be completed in O(log n) time.
